Anti Slip Tapes

Most slips and falls accidents due to slippery surfaces can be easily prevented simply by installing some anti-slip tapes. Grip-On Anti-Slip Tapes are commonly installed on slippery surface like floor (indoor, outdoor, kitchens etc) or stairs to help prevent accidental slips and trips. By far, installation of Grip-On anti slip tapes is one of the most cost effective method with the least amount of time and efforts required for improving the safety of places where slip and falls can occur.

Installation of the Grip-On Anti-Slip Tapes is as easy as simply peeling off the release paper behind the tape and pasting the tape onto the surfaces that requires additional friction.

Anti Slip Tapes are great additions to any workplace or area that needs protection against slips and skids. Anti slip tape significantly reduces the risk of accidents on slippery, uneven or split level floor surfaces by providing a sound grip. You can use it in high traffic areas, stairs and slippery corridors to ensure proper grip and eliminate accident risks.

Various grades of anti slip tapes reflect how coarse the tape is. Most of the industries are able to manage comfortably with the standard grade anti slip tape. This type of coarseness is used on skateboards and can be used effectively on stairs, corridors, walkways and even outdoor applications to certain extent. Once applied, it provides a durable non-slip surface.

The tape combines the effect of high quality abrasives and tough adhesives to provide a durable and excellent slip resistant surface viable for usage during long periods. These tapes can be applied quickly and are easy to maintain.

Currently available in 7 different color options: Black, Green, Grey, Red, Yellow,  Yellow-Black,  & Night Glow. You can choose the one that effectively blends with your requirements or let us know if you have any specific color or size requirements.

Anti slip tapes are often used by business owners and industries to reduce the risk of slips and injury at the workplace. The standard grade anti slip tape is ideal for high traffic areas and walkways, whereas the coarse grade anti slip tapes offer improved traction and are grease resistant, so they are mostly used at workshops and industries where oil and grease often spill on to the floor. The extra coarse grade anti slip tape provides protection at places that are exposed to extreme climatic conditions; these are viable for outdoor stairs and areas with highlighted risk.

Questions and answers of the customers

  1. Q How long can the night glow type anti slip tape glow? And when it stop glowing, how do I get it to glow again?
    A The night glow type anti-slip tapes can usually glow for 2-4 hours. You can recharge the glow simply by exposing the tape to light sources (eg, sunlight or light from light bulbs etc will do).
  2. Q I am installing this tape on staircase to prevent people from slipping and rolling down the stairs. To make it safer, I'd like to be able to see the tape clearly in the event that there is a blackout and the area is dark. Any suggestions?
    A In this case, we will suggest to opt for the night glow type anti-slip tape as it will glow in the dark and make it safer to use the stairs when visibility is low. Take a look at our product images above for your reference.
  3. Q Does Unitech Supplies provide installation service for the non slip tape?
    A We only supplies the tape - for installation you can either engage a contractor to do so or like what some of our customers did, they simply DIY and installed the anti slip tape themselves. Installation is quite straight forward: Clean and dry the area -> Apply primer if the surface area is porous -> Cut the tape to size -> Peel off release liner behind the anti slip tape -> Paste the tape on the ground
  4. Q Do I need special equipment to cut the slip resistant tapes into smaller pieces?
    A No special equipment will be needed. You can simply cut the anti-slip tapes using scissor or penknife - do note that as the surface of the tape is rough, it tends to blunt your blades after several rounds of cutting.
  5. Q Can the tape be used for outdoor?
    A Yes, it can be installed in outdoor environment. If you are expecting the surface that the tape to be installed to be frequently wet, we will recommend using a sealant to seal the edge of the tape after installation. This will help to limit moisture from seeping into the tape so as to ensure that the tape can last longer.
  6. Q Do I need to apply primer before installing the anti slip tapes?
    A It depends on the surface that the tape will be installed on. If the tape will be installed on porous surfaces (eg concrete or unfinished wood), we will recommend to apply a layer of primer first so as to ensure better adhesion.
  7. Q After installing the safety walk tape on the floor, will I still be able to remove it?
    A Yes, it is removable - you can simply peel it off from the ground (a scraper will be handy if you are having difficulty in peeling it off)
  8. Q Is it safe to walk on the anti slip tape barefooted?
    A Yes, it is safe to do, however we will still suggest to wear a pair of shoe as the surface of the anti slip tape can be rather rough on your sole.
