Description
Why It Stands Out
The ST650 allows maintenance and inspection personnel to check surface temperatures without making physical contact with the equipment being measured. Its -50°C to 680°C range supports routine checks across machinery, pipes, heating systems and other industrial assets where surface temperature may indicate an operating issue.
A 16:1 distance-to-spot ratio supports measurements from a practical working distance, while the laser provides an approximate aiming reference. For a dependable reading, the target surface should be larger than the instrument’s measurement spot. Reflective surfaces and incorrect emissivity settings can affect infrared measurements, so the adjustable emissivity range of 0.1 to 1.0 helps accommodate different materials.
For inspections involving several readings, the ST650 provides MAX, MIN and average measurements, as well as a temperature-difference function. High- and low-temperature alarms can be configured for identifying readings outside selected limits, while its internal memory stores up to 250 readings. Stored data can also be transferred through the USB Type-C interface outside the hazardous area.
The ST650 also displays ambient relative humidity in real time, with a stated measurement range of 10% RH to 99% RH. This is separate from the instrument’s specified operating-environment humidity limit.
The ST650 carries the explosion-protection marking Ex ib IIC T4 Gb under certificate CQC 25.0292X. This marking is generally associated with equipment for hazardous areas classified as Zone 1 or Zone 2 due to potentially explosive gas atmospheres.
The certificate was issued by the China Quality Certification Centre Co., Ltd. (CQC), a Chinese government-approved certification and quality-service body with certification body approval number 001. CQC includes explosion-proof electrical products among the product sectors it certifies.
For the ST650, certification is based on GB/T 3836.1-2021 and GB/T 3836.4-2021. Charging, battery replacement and USB Type-C data transfer must not be performed in an explosive atmosphere. Buyers should confirm that the certificate, applicable standards and operating conditions satisfy the requirements of their country, vessel, facility or worksite.
