Semi-Conductor Type Breathalyzer

Semi-conductor type breathalyzers or what is also commonly known as personal breathalyzer is one of the most common piece of equipment that people use to check on their blood alcohol content level.

Though not as accurate as a Fuel Cell type breathalyzer, the accuracy of a semi-conductor type breathalyzer is good enough for non-law-enforcement usage and the price of a semi-conductor type breathalyzer is usually much lower and make it an attractive choice for people doesn’t require the accuracy level of a professional breathalyzer.

Some common usages:

  • For drivers to check and ensure that their BAC (blood alcohol content) level is legally low enough to drive a car (we do not encourage drink driving).
  • For parents who wanted to check on their children to ensure that they are not drinking alcohol
  • For social workers to test on alcohol addicts who are trying to quit alcohol (to ensure that they are not secretly drinking)
  • For workplaces where companies need to check and ensure that workers did not intake alcohol before working, especially when the workers need to drive, operate machineries or do physically demanding work (eg, at construction site)

Important note: There are many brands of semiconductor type breathalyzers available in the market but to ensure that you are getting what you are paying for, make sure to check with the vendors if their breathalyzers are approved or certified by relevant authorities.
